The day it stopped snowing

I’ve often wondered who has the most fun in the snow – the dogs or the children. A couple of weeks ago we had about 15 inches and while the kids went sledging in the fields the dogs managed to get some play time in too.Flossy

The snow stuck to their rear ends in big bobbles and made them heavy enough for invitations to weight watchers.

But there was no way that a bit of ice was going to slow them down.

Dora, our 6 month old Border Collier was understandably hesitant at her first foray into Artic conditions.

but that lasted all of twenty seconds.

And by the end of the afternoon, it wasn’t only the dogs and kids who had developed a taste for the powdery stuff..

Have a good weekend everyone!

nice photos! We got over a foot today to add to what is on the ground. It is well over my knees at this time. Skiing tomorrow.

Our beagle, “Master Hunter” loves to play in the snow too, and does that dolphin jump in and out of the deep snow. it is so fun to see.

  4. Oh my, look at all the snow you had! My border collie (long since gone) used to love playing in the snow…it was the leaping through the drifts that he enjoyed the most.

    How is lambing?

  5. More great photos. Have you noticed how dogs seem to leap around like crazy in certain conditions – snow, sand, mud, soft dusty earth? I always wondered why that is.

  6. OMG! I love these shots of your dogs. Pure joy! Cait’s new puppy is still so small, the only way we can find him in the snow is when he pogo’s his way through each step.

I love the shots of the dogs flying through the snow. We had a lot, too, but now it’s all gone.

I went up to the mountains last week with my dog lady. It was the first time she had seen snow so she kinda did a bambi at first. Needless to say she loved it!!
